denmark here i come!

I thought about it. And having my blog named “This is Ottawa” with a dramatic tagline consisting of the phrase “Take nothing but pictures, leaving nothing but footprints, kill nothing but time” only to the write the blog posts in Swedish seems silly… and sort of leaves out some of my international friends. So this particular blog post will be in English.

Btw. On the topic of my tagline… “kill nothing but time” saying it out loud makes it sound so overly dramatized. If my tagline was a movie … it would be “Pearl Harbor”.
S
peaking of movies. I saw a movie called “Ottawa – The City That Fun Forgot” and I thought of renaming my tagline to that. But then again, I’ve had so much fun in Ottawa - with my new Scandinavian friends, especially the Danish people. Norway – not so much.

Anyways. Here is how anyone sane would react to celery juice:

So I visited the Danish Embassy for “frokost” (lunch!) yesterday. Their place is so nice, friendly and modern. I guess they are world-renowned for design and good times.

I am seriously considering moving to any place Danish - Copenhagen most likely, the capital of Scandinavia. Even the name makes you think of good pastry. Later that day I played tennis with one of the guys from their embassy. (The handsome guy in the middle. He is with communication and cultural affairs.)

I have promised the Danes to host a “Swedish dinner party” – and they seem very excited about Swedish cuisine. And why wouldn’t they be!

While we are on the topic… have you guys ever thought about spring onions? I mean they aren’t onions and they are not leek. Why can’t they make up their minds! Pick a gene pool already!
I had wine.

  2. Hm - interesting thoughts in the beginning. But I agree with Jill - did you have to much wine for lunch?
And "The handsome guy in the middle" - is that the Danish guy you mentioned that play such bad tennis that you have to let him win now and then?!? :-)
